Pensamientos de Nosotros (&wallpaper); 2011; Digital Print
I finished and submitted to the national gallary portrait contest. I wont find out if i’m a semi finalist until april 2012, Five whole months. I am nervous in every sense. Most of my faculty is behind me on this work, and so are my classmates. I with every fiber of my being, can only hope. If anything, there’s always in another 3 years. I’m excited to have the work up and i’m currently working on another print series.
—WIP; Finally finished working on this illustration and it still has to translate onto a 3d form… But so far I’m content. I need to see how it looks printed before I go any further. But I hope to submit this to the national portrait contest and see how that goes. I’m debating if it will stay like this or go into wallpaper form…. DECISIONS!
Mi familia: a year later. 2011. Ceramic Phoenix Stoneware
So, a year later after building and presenting this project i left one structure outside. its lasted through the snow, the heat, the rain and winds. And it’s done beautifully.
—DECALS. Ceramic Screenprinted decals. i’ve so far taught my self how to do these, with very little instruction. They’re not that hard, but apparently they’re not reliable. I dont know. i’m crossing my fingers. /heres hoping/
Today, i’m unloading 3 kilns. Two bisque and one Test glaze. I AM REALLY hoping this turns out OK. /supernervous/ Also inaddition, its occured to me i may NOT have enough glaze for my objects. I need to go buy another jar of glaze…
EDIT: THE DECALS CAME OUT OF THE KILN AWESOME.
So I’m now Two weeks and Two days out from thesis being turned in… and well i’m about 1/2 way done. Best part i’m going to Southern Graphics Next tuesday for my first road trip. I’m crazy nervous. one for will i get a lot out of it? and two: Will i get thesis done on time.
So, soon keep check on me pictures of Thesis and process screenprinting will be up. Oh and Check the Corcoran Printmaking Blog too- Hopefully more print making things will be up!
—This is what it used to be. 2010. CMYK polyester litho plate.
I love doing CMYK prints. so much fun. Most of the semester i worked on several things revolving around i guess what is now my thesis theme. I’ve been working on the idea of reflection, degredations and self infliction. I’m super stoked yet crazy nervous.
joseph. 2010. CMY Photo Litho (Test print a/p)
I really love this litho series. I scanned in this test proof just to see color and this came about- Occasionally i like this much more than the print itself. But either way this is quite cool. I fell in love with litho and i’m excited to start screenprinting again but i really love lithography, i’m thinking of maybe doing hybrid prints. now if i could just my butt back on the stone….
