Mi familia: a year later.  2011. Ceramic Phoenix Stoneware

So, a year later after building and presenting this project i left one structure outside. its lasted through the snow, the heat, the rain and winds. And it’s done beautifully.

"Anxiety only kills us both" Stone Lithograph. 2011

its a working edition, i’m doing a reduction and hopefully by the end i’ll have a great reduced print. I dont think i’ve been THIS excited about a print ever. i’m in love with my print.

DECALS. Ceramic Screenprinted decals. i’ve so far taught my self how to do these, with very little instruction. They’re not that hard, but apparently they’re not reliable. I dont know. i’m crossing my fingers. /heres hoping/

Today, i’m unloading 3 kilns. Two bisque and one Test glaze. I AM REALLY hoping this turns out OK. /supernervous/ Also inaddition, its occured to me i may NOT have enough glaze for my objects. I need to go buy another jar of glaze…

EDIT: THE DECALS CAME OUT OF THE KILN AWESOME.

So I’m now Two weeks and Two days out from thesis being turned in… and well i’m about 1/2 way done. Best part i’m going to Southern Graphics Next tuesday for my first road trip. I’m crazy nervous. one for will i get a lot out of it? and two: Will i get thesis done on time.

So, soon keep check on me pictures of Thesis and process screenprinting will be up. Oh and Check the Corcoran Printmaking Blog too- Hopefully more print making things will be up!

THESIS PREVIEW!

Check it out.

Last month of working. I CAN DO THIS. I see the light!

Anyways what this is:

Wall Panels of repeating portrait panels and ceramic objects that are about 1ft diameter and about 2 1/2 feet tall. (these are big mothers. HEAVY MOTHERS) They will eventually be glazed in a majoilica and be decaled with the same image that it will sit in front of.

yes. that is lady gaga.

I swear you’re wrong. 2011. Colored pencil on wood panel.

I feel like this may work as a series. I’m not sure how I feel about the way it looks. More so the light in my room is bad. It’s a starting point for the most part. I’ve never drawn on wood panel before. Any ideas?

EDIT: its a laminate over particle board. so its flat and smooth like woah. So sanding no need. i’m just having trouble with the colors and such.

Koifish. 2009. Etching

Early Etching. this was the second one. I was never too happy with it. I’m thinking after all of this thesis business is done i’m going to fix and make this plate awesome.

Opulence. 2010. Ceramic with majolica stain - wall paper digital print.

Last work of the 1st semester of FINE ART CORE IV.
